Maclaren first began in 1940 when Owen Maclaren began a remarkable career in aeronautical design and engineering. In 1961 Maclaren introduced its first consumer product, the foldable Gadabout picnic chair and soon went on to inventing the umbrella-fold baby buggy. This was the first of many buggies to come and in 1967 Owen Maclaren went into production with the Maclaren Baby Buggy. Soon after he began designing the pram buggy, foam tyres, swivel wheels with brakes and the first car seat. Maclaren has since evolved globally and designs prams, buggies and accessories to cater for you and your baby.
